Work has started on the upgrade of the New England Highway between Hampton and Geham. Design and construction is being undertaken according to recommendations made in the independent report handed to Minister Wallace in May – more in this story from Tuesday’s Toowoomba Chronicle.

- Section A1 (Munro Road to Collingwood Road) – 2.5km
- Section A2 (Geham Tip to Pioneer Road) – 2.0km
- Section B (Collingwood Road to Pioneer Road) – 5.5km

- Section A1 – complete by end June 2010
- Section A2 – complete by mid July 2010
- Section B – start mid July and complete end of October 2010

- Section A1 – August 2010 through to November 2010
- Section A2 – September 2010 through to December 2010
- Section B – February 2011 through to May 2011
